Diu is a popular fishing town which is located in the Diu district in the Indian union territory of Daman and Diu. There are numerous tourist attractions in Diu. Some of the popular tourist spots are listed below:
1. Diu Fort :- Diu Fort is a massive and imposing structure which is located on the coast of the island. This fort came into existence during the period between 1535 and 1541 AD after the treaty which was signed between the Sultan of Gujarat and the Portuguese. This fort which is encompassed by the sea on three sides of the fort provides picturesque views of the sea.
It also houses a Light House where the beam of light can reach up to a distance of thirty two kilometers.
2. Fortress of Panikota :- Fortress of Panikota is a stunning structure which is constructed on a sheltered creek. This fortress houses a light house and a small chapel which is dedicated to Our Lady of the Sea. The only way to get to this place is via canoe or a motor launch.

3. Gangeshwar Temple :- Gangeshwar Temple is one of the holy places in Diu which is dedicated to the Holy Deity Lord Shiva. One of the interesting myths associated with this shrine is that the five lingas were consecrated by the Pandavas during their exile.
4. St. Paul's Church :- St. Paul's Church is a famous cathedral which is dedica famous shrineated to the Lady of Immaculate Conception. This prominent chapel in Diu which was discovered by the Jesuits during the 1600's was later re-constructed in the year 1807. The interior of the church is beautifully adorned with barn and heavy dark wood along with a small cloister. The entrance of the church is embellished with volutes and shell like motifs.

5. Jallandhar Shrine :- Jallandhar is a famous shrine which is perched on a hill. Jallandhar Shrine which has a spherical dome has within its massive structure a niche containing the image of a demon.
6. Diu Museum :- Diu Museum which was previously a cathedral houses various antiques, stone inscriptions, idols, shadow clocks and other important artifacts.
Though Diu is a small fishing enclave, it has a rich history dotted with numerous places of worship and forts.

Diu Tourism draws heavily on its Portuguese heritage. But unlike the other colonies of the Portuguese empire it is dotted with temples, cathedrals and forts. It is the unique local cultural influence which makes it stand apart from other Portuguese enclaves like Goa and Daman.
There are many points of attraction in Diu out of which the Diu Fort which was built by the Portuguese in the year 1535 is one of the major attractions which has been well preserved till date. One can observe the cannon balls and several ramparts with cannons on the wooden carriages. It is an ideal place to spend an afternoon.
Diu is home to numerous beaches where one can indulge in playing some beach cricket and water sports like banana boats. For those who wish to sample the true flavor of local culture of Diu, then they may head to the Vanakbara which is a fishing village where you can observe the people engaging in fishing activities.
